Reviews
Popular local bakery and cafe. Great options for snacks, breakfast etc and few lunch items such as sandwiches and savoury rolls. Really good coffees and cakes. Seating both indoors and outdoors as well as a small play area for children. Super friendly staff!
Can't comment on the food as I didn't have any, but it looked very nice.
Hot chocolate was tasty and served in a large cup. Good atmosphere.
The tables were very large with big benches, it seemed acceptable to share a bench with other people if there wasn't any other space to sit.
What a lovely place. I used to go to the Shambles shop, excellent too, but I now live closer to the Acomb venue. Superb products, lovely place with great armosphere, I love the decor and art work too. Big shout out to the staff too, they always serve with a smile, very friendly and welcoming. Very lucky to have this in our community. Thank you.
We went on Saturday in December the staff were so on it, they did a wonderful job, and the bread was the best we've bought. We will 100% be back, thanks again for the lovely warm welcome. Lovely atmosphere too.
Really was not impressed !!!
The evening experience was totally different n a lovely place to be.
But in the morning their time keeping is impeccable opening the doors spot on 1000.
Even tho they could have opened up easily 0950 they were ready standing about f up b mind in neutral, it would have made it feel less rushed.
At that time there is no menu n very little options.
No breakfast pastries which is odd for a bakery.
Toasted T cake n small cake for my daughter was just ok nothing to write home about.
The massive disappointment was the coffee, completely ignoring my request for an Extra Hot (way above the health n safety hot) Caramel Latte. It was neck able only just warm 😞
The mug must have been cold 😞 my tip go to the CoOp across the road.
When is a Bakery not a Bakery ? Very disappointed !
Coffee and cinnamon bun were excellent.
We didn't try any of the savoury offerings but they all looked tasty, with plenty of vegetarian options.
It's in a big airy space, child friendly with a play corner and baby changing facilities, and very accessible for those with limited mobility and wheelchair users with a large disabled toilet.
Lovely breakfast options. The savoury roll was delicious, I could have have 5 of those!!
Also very good coffee, and I loved that staff was kind and left us work away quietly without any problem.
Would definitely recommend as a work or study café for a couple of hours.
Such a shame. Had a really disappointing visit to this cafe. The service was chaotic and we ended up with nothing to eat as they completely messed up the order (gave it to someone else). For the middle of lunchtime (1pm) they had surprisingly little food left, and by the time I realised our food wasn’t coming there were no savoury options left at all. Probably better to go earlier in the day if you would like more lunchtime food options.
In response to your response - I appreciate you tried to make amends but we didn’t want to eat something sweet, which is all you had to offer. Adding I ‘instead chose’ to respond negatively (because I said thank you for your offer but I didn’t want anything sweet) isn’t a very kind comment to make to a customer in the circumstances. I’m disappointed that you don’t seem to take customer feedback seriously. I hoped you would welcome any suggestions for how you might better serve customers in the future and show a little more understanding.
